We do not have an HDS scanner, just an Autel scanner, but it doesn't have all the HDS features. Gave power to actuator directly and it works just fine.Īlready attempted the battery disconnect tip from a few posts above, did not work. Took the hatch door card off, inspected all the wires coming from the roof all the way to the actuator, they do not have power. The following week customer storms into the shop and chews me out "ever since you did this, my hatch doesn't open!"įine, brought vehicle in, managed to get the hatch open from the inside, but confirmed the exterior handle does not work. Now all windows and locks work, everyone is happy. Then went ahead and replaced the RL window switch with a new Honda OEM window switch. Replaced the master switch using a new Honda OEM master switch (the Front Left / FL), now all locks and three windows (except the Rear Left) worked fine. Gave power directly to window motor and it worked as it should. Inspected the wires themselves (removed rear left door card) and did not find any shorts or worn out cables. Technician checked all fuses / relays and seemed fine. Upon first inspection everything worked fine (all windows, all locks worked fine, vehicle arrived with RL window halfway up, i was able to roll it up using the master switch because it was going to rain that day and it was going to be a while before we could get the vehicle into the shop, i even sat in the back and was able to use the switches no problem), did an oil change and let vehicle sit for half day, when I was about to pull vehicle out the shop for the oil change we did, both rear windows were inoperable, and the locks were being weird (lock would unlock, unlock would lock, some doors would activate, others wouldn't) In my case the unlock signal from the front passenger side knob switch was missing because the connector was not fully inserted.Ĭustomer originally stated her Rear Left (RL) window was inoperable, and the locks acted up. The knob switch in each door sends that signal to the MCIU. For information, the MCIU requires all doors to be unlocked as a requirement to open the hatch. Pushed it in until I heard a snap and the hatch now opens. Removed the door panel, looked at the connector and saw that it was not fully inserted. The indication was an issue with the front passenger side knob switch. I used the test connector (part number 07WAZ-001010A) to put the MCIU in the test mode. If you search for " Rear Hatch Does Not Open" and my user id "Wrench" you will find the complete sequence of events which started January 13, 2018. The computer then sends a signal to the solenoid controlled locking mechanism to unlock the hatch provided the doors are providing their locked/unlocked status to the computer. It appears that the switch on the hatch sends a signal to the computer signalling that the switch has been closed.
